This clinic provides specialized evaluation and subsequent custom fabrication of adaptive equipment designed to prevent injuries, maintain injuries from becoming worse, prevent the onset of pain or discomfort, and provide stability to a weakened body part.  Examples of orthotic devices include ankle-foot orthoses that are effective in treating lower extremity musculoskeletal pain, malalignment of lower extremity joints, or overuse syndromes.

Frequently, knee braces are custom made to provide additional stability to a weakened or unstable knee joint.  Our orthotics laboratory partners are capable of fabricating a multitude of customized appliances designed to protect previously injured areas, including: fingers, wrists, forearm, elbow, shoulder, neck, back, nose, eyes, hips, and thighs, in addition to the previously described braces for knees and feet.
